The air is truly golden as I wake up with the dawn

I stroll throughout my garden with roses nearly gone

They have given me their very best as summer says Adieu!

Now the longer days will disappear like my footprints in the dew.

New colors are now taking place of gentle pinks and reds

Mother Nature gives us violets, teals, and oranges instead.

And crimson, and the brightest golds become the maple's story

The oaks give their best salute to Mother Nature's glory.

The fragile blossoms bow their heads to mums and bittersweet

On the porches and the doorways, big bright pumpkins soon will greet

All summer long the blooms, so sweet, have given us their best

And as a reward for their loveliness, they soon will be at rest.
